Click to ZoomWhen it comes to protecting your data, most people think about hardware encryption, biometric scanners, and highly complex passwords. That's just one level of protection and they won't do you any good if your office suddenly becomes flooded. Encryption gets you nowhere when it comes to severe water damage.

If you value your data, you may want to consider something like the SentrySafe 250GB Fire-Safe waterproof hard drive. This external drive is meant to survive the worst of disasters, withstanding temperatures of over 1500 degrees Fahrenheit for up to 30 minutes at a time. The drive is also fully submersible in water for up to 24 hours.

Serving as the basis for the SentrySafe Fire-Safe waterproof hard drive is the Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini hard drive. On this side of things, you get a number of software protection utilities. The 250GB version retails for $399.99. There are also 80GB and 160GB models if you want to save a little money.
